Steven González, Senior Fellow
Steven González is a Venture Partner at two venture firms: Seldor Capital and Ecosphere Ventures. Seldor Capital focuses on investing in pre-seed and seed-stage space technology startups, while Ecosphere Ventures invests in pre-seed and seed-stage cleantech startups.
Steven retired from NASA after a thirty-two-year career, serving as an astronaut instructor, strategist, and technologist. He led the development of a twenty-year transformational strategy at the Johnson Space Center. Core to the strategy was the emerging capabilities of the new space ecosystem and the need for closer collaboration between NASA and innovation ecosystems. During the second half of his career, Steven was embedded in the startup community in Houston and seeded startups with space technology in the innovation ecosystems of New York City, Brownsville, TX, Puerto Rico, and New Mexico.
Steven’s insights into strategy and space commerce have been captured in the Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, California Management Review, and Space Policy. He’s pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration from Warwick Business School in the UK, a testament to his dedication and passion for lifelong learning.
