Ali Akhtar, Fellow
Ali has been part of the satellite communications industry since 2010 when he began his career as a systems engineer designing satellite communications networks for a host of different applications.
A member of the senior leadership team at Pakistan’s premier satellite communications systems integrator and service provider, Ali has spearheaded the launch of multiple successful satellite products and services in the country and plays a lead role in coming up with practical solutions to connect the unconnected.
Ali works closely with the global industry’s technology leaders ensuring that the satellite industry in Pakistan stays abreast of and contributes to the global technological roadmap. Ali has been championing the role of satellite networks with positive real-world impacts on the lives of millions of people in the country, changing the conventional wisdom about satellite communications in Pakistan and driving business growth for the country’s satellite communications industry and the global satellite players connected to it.
Ali’s accomplishments have led to both him and his organization receiving international recognition including community effort and innovation awards from leading space organizations. Ali is also the Asia Pacific Satellite Communication Council’s first Young Talent Award recipient as well as part of the first cohort of the Space and Satellite Professionals International’s “20 under 35” making a positive impact on the industry.
In addition to his work in satellite communications, Ali continues to build success stories in the domains of cybersecurity and terrestrial transport networks and has delivered multiple high-impact projects for telecommunications and defense organizations.
