The Institute of Space Commerce appoints esteemed industry leaders to conduct research, author publications, and present their findings on topics related to space commercialization.
Fellows and junior fellows author at least one publication relevant to the Institute’s mission per year in industry trade publications, academic journals, or similar media. Senior fellows are available for mentoring, subject matter expertise, and reviewing the work of fellows and junior fellows. The Institute supports the activities of fellows by connecting them with senior fellows and other industry leaders, helping to shape compelling research proposals, facilitating peer review, and issuing an annual financial grant.
From an annual application pool, at least two fellows and two junior fellows are appointed to two-year terms. Fellows and junior fellows are selected based on their enthusiasm for space commercialization, quality of writing, and relevant experience in the space sector and in space-adjacent fields. Junior fellows typically have fewer than ten years of relevant work experience, while fellows have ten years or more. Senior fellows typically have at least twenty years of experience and are appointed at the Institute’s discretion.
The application for the 2025-2026 cohort will open in Fall 2024.
