About Us
The Institute of Space Commerce is a non-partisan non-profit organization dedicated to the study of the economics and policy of commercial activity in space. We believe that access to space fundamentally changes the equation for humankind, and that advancements in space science and technology are tangibly improving the quality of life for all. We aim to elevate the discussion on space commercialization to solve challenges that affect our industry and society as a whole.
Through our fellowships, scholarships, and other research and engagement activities, the Institute is accelerating the growth of a commercially viable space economy, ensuring a safe and sustainable space environment, and advocating for the advancement of the space sector for the betterment of humankind and the natural world. Among our research interests are space exploration and technology, domestic and foreign policy, finance and economics, workforce and industrial base issues, space sustainability, and the use of space in support of climate change mitigation, medical research, agriculture, and other applications vital to life on Earth.
