The European Commission has embarked on financing the development and deployment of Europe’s independent and entirely civilian Global Navigation Space System (GNSS), GALILEO. The EUR3.4 Billion infrastructure is to be managed and operated through a Public Private Partnership (PPP), which aims at minimizing life cycle cost by generating revenues from future value-added services.
